Tell us about your basic philosophy and greatest pleasure in practicing pediatrics and adolescent medicine.
I chose pediatrics because I love watching my patients grow from infants into young adults and helping them on their journey. I enjoy working with parents and children (when appropriate) to find solutions to their problems with a shared decision-making approach. This is done using the best available medical practices.
I particularly enjoy working with parents that are experiencing the joys of parenting for the first time. I had this experience when my first son was born near the onset of the recent pandemic. One of my special interests involves working with children and adolescents to develop healthy lifestyle choices, particularly those patients who are having difficulty with weight management.
When he is not working Dr. Sullivan enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, long-distance running, attending live sporting/music events, and spending time in nature.
